We’re thrilled to announce that Uplink returns with a sci-tastic episode tomorrow, Friday, April 17th with acclaimed science fiction authors Pippa Goldschmidt and Alastair Reynolds!

We’ll be talking about how the worlds of science fiction and science fact sometimes collide and mirror each other, and no two better people to do it with than authors who’ve also worked as scientists. Alastair – who joined us for Space Rocks’ debut event in 2018 – earned a PhD in Astrophysics from the University of St Andrews and worked for ESA before going onto an illustrious career as the author of much-celebrated series like Revelation Space and Poseidon’s Children. Pippa earned a PhD in Astronomy from the University of Edinburgh before undertaking postdoctoral research at Imperial College London and authoring books like 2014’s The Falling Sky and The Need For the Better Regulation of Outer Space, and is the winner of the 2016 Suffrage Science Award.

Join us for the livestream at 5:30pm (BST) / 6:30pm (CEST) on Friday, April 17 on our YouTube channel, and don’t forget to subscribe while you’re there to catch past and future episodes of Uplink!
