Exploring the moons of Jupiter for signs of life

ESA’s Jupiter Icy Moons Explorer mission launch window opens this week, hopefully launching Friday 14th April at 1:14pm BST from Europe’s Spaceport in French Guiana. You can see the latest updates here.

An eight-year travel mission, the JUICE interplanetary spacecraft will reach Jupiter in 2031 to study three of Jupiter's Galilean moons: Ganymede, Callisto, and Europa. Evidence suggests all three moons have significant bodies of liquid water beneath their icy surface crusts, making them potentially habitable environments.
